Community Connection offers prizes, phone charging, information on CTA services, fares and modernization projects
We've debuted our new Community Connection bus, a specially designed bus that will travel the city to bring information about CTA service, programs and projects directly to neighborhoods throughout Chicago.
The bus's debut at the Taste of Chicago marks the latest effort by us to connect with communities and promote the benefits of public transportation.
“We created the Community Connection bus not only to help strengthen relationships with customers, but to provide information about CTA bus and rail service, our fare products, and career opportunities,” said CTA President Dorval R. Carter. “The bus will allow the wider community to become more familiar with who we are and what we do at the CTA.”
Community Connection features an eye-catching exterior design that lists the names of some of the many communities we serve. The interior has been modified into a sleek, modern space featuring video screens, tables, music and a fast-charging station for mobile phones and other electronic devices. Staff will provide information about career opportunities, ongoing projects, tax-free transit benefits and a wide array of our services. Visitors can also vie for a chance to win prizes and CTA gifts.
“The CTA is a critical part of daily life in Chicago, and this new bus is a way for CTA to strengthen its connections across the city and allow our customers feel more connected to us,” Carter said.
The Community Connection will appear at multiple events throughout 2017, including our 70th anniversary celebration on October 1.
